Vahagn Khanjian


Vahagn Khandjyan was born in 1990 in the Parisian suburb Clamart, France.

In 2016, he obtained a Master’s degree in demography from Paris-Sorbonne University and a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Paris-Descartes University in 2014. From 2006 to 2009, he studied piano at the Regional Conservatory (CRR) of Boulogne-Billancourt, France.

In 2015, he worked as a research officer at the National Institute for Demographic Studies in Paris (INED). He wrote a Bachelor’s thesis regarding the national and diasporic Armenian population.

In 2016, he worked as a research officer at the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia. He mainly contributed in the creation and making of the 2016 demographic yearbook of the RA with analysis of demographic data, translations of documents, making of population projections, etc.

Vahagn is also a pianist (interpreter, accompanist) and a self-taught guitarist. He performed several times in different musical styles (particularly classical music and hard rock), solo or with both amateur and professional musicians, at concerts, recitals, live and studio recordings and at several other events. He is also a winner of numerous national and international piano competitions.

He has been a piano teacher in several music schools in 2010-2011 and 2018. He has also prepared pupils for national and international piano competitions since 2006.

His task within the “Europe in Law Association” is to translate reports and other documents into English and French.

His native languages are Eastern Armenian and French. He is also fluent in English, Western Armenian and knows more or less other languages (Russian, Spanish…).
